WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The Huntington Museum of Art, West Virginia, intends to repatriate a pair of sacred dance moccasins to the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, Montana, according to a notice published by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service.
The moccasins were collected by James L. Chaffin from an unknown location in Montana between 1882 and 1958. Chaffin lived with Tribes in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The Huntington Museum of Art, West Virginia, intends to repatriate four unassociated funerary objects to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, according to a notice published by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service.
The objects are three stone pipes and one fossilized coral pipe. Two stone pipes and the coral pipe were removed from Asheville, North Carolina, while another stone pipe came from Frazer Farm in Frazier Bottom, West Virginia.
