ITA: Antidumping, Countervailing Duties Issued on Chinese Ceramic Abrasive Grains
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration is issuing antidumping duty and countervailing duty orders on sol gel alumina-based ceramic abrasive grains from China.
This action follows determinations by ITA and the International Trade Commission that found dumping and subsidies of these imports were harming a domestic industry. The duties are applicable starting Sept. 29, 2025.

National Indian Gaming Commission Amends Tribal License Notification Rule
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior National Indian Gaming Commission is amending the deadline for tribes to submit notice that a facility license is being considered. This direct final rule alters an existing regulation that required tribes to provide notice 120 days before a new gaming facility opened. The change means a tribe must now submit a notice to the commission's chair at any time before opening a place, facility, or location on Indian lands where Class

National Institutes of Health Contemplates Patent License For Zika Virus Research
WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is considering giving an exclusive patent license to Advocate Aurora Research Institute, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The license would be for the inventions found in two patent applications related to Zika virus strains. These strains may serve as a therapeutic for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and other types of cancer.

NOAA: Fishing Prohibition Announced in Aleutian Islands
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Marine Fisheries Service is prohibiting the retention of "other rockfish" in the Aleutian Islands subarea of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area. The prohibition is a response to the determination that the yearly quota for the species will be or has been reached.

NOAA: Pacific Ocean Perch Retention Prohibited in Gulf of Alaska
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Marine Fisheries Service has issued a temporary rule prohibiting the retention of Pacific Ocean perch in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska. This action is needed because the 2025 total allowable catch for the species has been reached or is expected to be met.

NRC, Connecticut Agree on Transfer of Nuclear Material Regulatory Authority
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (TNSFR) -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the state of Connecticut have entered an agreement that will transfer regulatory authority for nuclear materials to the state. David A. Wright, NRC Chairman, and Governor Edward Miner Lamont Jr. of Connecticut signed the agreement on Sept. 25, 2025. This action is authorized by Section 274b of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954.
