DOE Direct Final Rule Rescinding Regulations on Nondiscrimination Delayed
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Energy is further delaying the effective date of a direct final rule. This rule is entitled "Rescinding Regulations Related to Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Financial Assistance." FAA Amends, Establishes Five Area Navigation Routes
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration is amending U.S. Area Navigation (RNAV) Routes Q-64, T-414 and T-705. The agency is also establishing RNAV Routes T-461 and T-463 in the eastern U.S.
These adjustments support the FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System, which is aimed at providing an RNAV route structure to improve the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System.

FAA Changes Airspace Structure in Northwestern U.S.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration is issuing a final rule to modify the air traffic service route structure in the Northwestern U.S.
This action is due to the pending decommissioning of the Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range (VOR) portion of the Whatcom, Washington, VORTAC navigational aid. The decommissioning is part of the FAA's VOR Minimum Operational Network program.

FAA Finalizes Airway Rule for Alaska
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration is amending a federal airway in Alaska. The change to the Alaskan Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range Federal Airway V-350 is a result of the decommissioning of the Togiak Nondirectional Radio Beacon in the state.
The rulemaking finalizes a proposal to modify the airway. The previous path of V-350 ran between the Dillingham VOR, Togiak NDB, Bethel VORTAC, Emmonak VOR/DME, and Nome VOR/DME

FAA Proposes Rule to Modify Airway Routes Around Muncie, Indiana
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration is proposing to amend four Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range (VOR) Federal Airways around Muncie, Indiana.
This action is a direct result of the planned decommissioning of the VOR portion of the Muncie, IN, VOR/Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) navigational aid, which is part of the FAA's VOR Minimum Operational Network program.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 (TNSFR) -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is confirming the effective date of a direct final rule that updates a list of approved casks for storing spent nuclear fuel.
This action finalizes an amendment to the NUHOMS EOS Dry Spent Fuel Storage System, a product of TN Americas LLC, Columbia, Maryland.
The direct final rule was published on July 29, 2025. It contained a provision that it would become effective if no adverse comments were submitted.
