Employee Benefits Security Administration: Benefits Rule Pulled After Public Feedback
WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration has withdrawn a rule related to employee benefits following the receipt of adverse public comments. EBSA published a direct final rule (DFR) on July 1, 2025, but it will no longer take effect.

EPA Considers Expanded Authority for North Dakota's Coal Ash Program
WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is accepting public comments on potential changes to North Dakota's coal combustion residuals (CCR) permit program. This follows a proposal on May 16, 2025, to approve a partial program for the state.
The EPA is now reopening the public comment period to evaluate revisions to the state's program, which would grant North Dakota added authority to implement its own CCR permit system.
