EPA Revokes Methane Waste Emissions Charge Rule Under CRA Mandate
WASHINGTON, May 17 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has formally revoked its 2024 final rule establishing a waste emissions charge (WEC) for petroleum and natural gas systems, following a joint resolution of disapproval enacted under the Congressional Review Act.
The final rule, initially designed to enforce compliance under the Clean Air Act's Methane Emissions Reduction Program, is now without legal effect and is being removed from the Code of Federal Regulations.
