American Museum of Natural History to Return Funerary Objects to Midwestern and Plains Tribes
WASHINGTON, May 14 (TNSFR) -- The American Museum of Natural History in New York, intends to repatriate five unassociated funerary objects to a coalition of federally recognized Indian Tribes with ancestral ties to burial sites in Will County, Illinois.
The cultural items--identified as a pebble, a stone scraper, an arrowpoint, a glass ring, and a pottery sherd--were excavated between 1902 and 1913 by George Langford and gifted to the museum in 1919.

Cincinnati Museum Center Completes Inventory of Human Remains and Associated Funerary Objects to Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma
WASHINGTON, May 14 (TNSFR) --The Cincinnati Museum Center, Ohio has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects, determining a cultural affiliation with several Native American tribes.
These remains, representing at least 107 individuals, along with 1,148 lots of associated funerary objects, have been identified as originating from the Glenn/Oberting Mounds in Dearborn County, Indiana, and the Hawkins Ridge Mounds and Newtown Firehouse site in Hamilton County, Ohio.
