BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, Oct. 5 -- The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, Prim F. Escalona, issued the following news release:
An Oklahoma woman pleaded guilty to crimes committed in the Talladega National Forest, announced U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona and FBI Special Agent in Charge Carlton Peeples.
Yasmine Marie Hider, 21 of Edmond, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court R. David Proctor to murder, kidnapping, and robbery. Hider is scheduled to be sentenced on January 4, 20

Fish & Wildlife Service Issues Endangered Species Notice Involving Short-Tailed Snake
WASHINGTON, Oct. 4 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a proposed rule (50 CFR Part 17), published in the Federal Register on Oct. 3, 2023, entitled "Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Threatened Species Status With Section 4(d) Rule for Short-Tailed Snake."
The proposed rule was issued by Janine Velasco, Acting Director.
