Ameren Encourages Customers to Conserve Energy During Extended Heat Wave
ST. LOUIS, Missouri, Aug. 25 -- Ameren, a provider of electric power services, issued the following news release on Aug. 24, 2023:
The regional grid operator, Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), is forecasting high energy needs today. To lessen the strain on the grid and ensure safe and reliable service, Ameren is encouraging its customers to take steps to use energy conservatively and efficiently.

First-Day Enrollment Tops 7,000 at Missouri S&T
ROLLA, Missouri, Aug. 22 -- Missouri University of Science and Technology issued the following news:

Enrollment on the first day of classes at Missouri S&T is 7,022, according to Missouri S&T Registrar Deanne Jackson. This is an increase over last year's first day total of 6,971. S&T will continue to register students during the first weeks of the fall semester. Official enrollment figures for the fall 2023 semester will be available after the fourth full week of classes.

Missouri Valley College: New Scholarship Established for Eagle Scouts
MARSHALL, Missouri, Aug. 23 -- Missouri Valley College issued the following news on Aug. 21, 2023:
Missouri Valley College has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America, Great Rivers Council, to establish one of the country's largest Eagle Scout Scholarships - $52,500 over four years.
Dr. Joe Parisi, president of Missouri Valley College, and John K. Fabsits, scout executive and CEO, made the joint announcement today.
"Eagle Scouts are high-achieving, high-character individuals," Parisi said. "
