ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 29 -- Brian P. Roarty of Los Altos, Cslif., and Carol J. Walker of Redmond, Wash., have developed a method of preparing materials.
According to a description of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to surface treatment of materials, and in particular relates to a method for changing the molecular bonds at or near the surface of a material and within a solution in order to facilitate certain desirable reactions . . .
