WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (TNSLrpt) -- The American Enterprise Institute issued 'The Credit Box Is Much Wider Than Pew Thinks,' by Tobias Peter, Edward J. Pinto and Kenan Dogan, arguing that U.S. mortgage underwriting already reaches many lower-credit and highly leveraged borrowers and that a shortage of entry-level homes, rather than excessively tight credit, is the larger obstacle to homeownership. The report was issued Sept. 14, 2026.
