FORT KNOX, Ky. -The U.S. Army issued a policy today to promote sergeants to staff sergeants upon completion of the Drill Sergeant Course. Sergeants who are currently serving in drill sergeant positions and meet all requirements will also be promoted, with an effective date of Sept. 10, 2026.
