'Shield of the Americas' Coalition Condemns Attempts to Destabilize Bolivia's Democracy

WASHINGTON, May 22 -- The U.S. State Department issued the following joint statement on May 21, 2026, with 12 other nations from the Americas (collectively forming an alliance referred to as the "Shield of the Americas") expressing their official support for the democratically elected government of Bolivia and its president, Rodrigo Paz.
