California Transportation Dept. Funerary Collection Linked to Graton Rancheria, Kashia Pomo Tribe

WASHINGTON, May 20 (TNSFR) -- The California Department of Transportation has completed an inventory of hundreds of funerary objects tied to Native American tribal communities in California and plans to transfer the items under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, according to a notice published by the National Park Service.

The notice said Caltrans identified 357 catalog entries of associated funerary objects connected to archaeological excavations conducted . . .
