WASHINGTON, April 30 -- Student researchers at Jackson-Reed High School are mastering engineering through the American Rocketry Challenge, a national competition that bridges the gap between classroom theory and flight physics. Managed by Chelsey Brown, program manager for the NASA DC Space Grant Consortium (DCSGC) and the Integrated Space Science and Technology Institute at American University, the program requires participants to design, construct, and launch functional rockets.
