WASHINGTON, April 30 -- The House Homeland Security Committee released the following testimony by Iraq combat veteran George Retes, who was wrongfully detained by federal agents during an immigration raid, from an April 22, 2026, hearing entitled "Funding Lapse and Security Gaps: Assessing the Harmful Impacts of the DHS Shutdown on Americans, Part II." DHS is the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
