WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 -- American University climate scientist Valentina Aquila has played a leading role in the first comprehensive assessment of the 2022 Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai eruption, the most explosive volcanic event observed since the dawn of satellite monitoring. As chair of AU's Department of Environmental Science, Aquila joined 158 researchers from 21 countries in producing the Hunga Volcanic Eruption Atmospheric Impacts Report under the World Climate Research Programme' . . .
