NRC Event Notification: U.S. Army Reports Lost Radioactive Gauge

WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 (TNSoth) -- The U.S. Army has reported the loss of a moisture density gauge to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The Troxler model 3440+ gauge, containing 8 millicuries of Cesium-137 and 40 millicuries of Americium-241/Beryllium, was last seen on June 29, 2025, at Fort Carson, Colorado, before it was supposed to be shipped to Fort Hood, Texas.
