ATLANTA, Georgia, Dec. 2 -- The Georgia State Senate issued the following news release on Dec. 1, 2023:

State Representative Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) and State Senator Kim Jackson (D-Stone Mountain) today commend Pine Lake Mayor Melanie Hammet for her years of public service and for her retirement. House Resolution 9EX was adopted by the House of Representatives on Thursday, November 30, 2023, to honor Mayor Hammet and recognize her service to the citizens of Pine Lake.
