CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, Oct. 18 -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools issued the following news:
Mary McGowen has been serving Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students for 41 years - in the cafeteria instead of the classroom.
McGowen is the cafeteria manager at Mallard Creek Elementary. She joined the district on March 1, 1978, and is the longest-serving employee in CMS School Nutrition Services.
