Indiana University to Repatriate Funerary Objects to 16 Native American Tribes

WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 (TNSFR) -- Indiana University, Bloomington, will repatriate three associated funerary objects to 16 Native American tribes, according to a notice published by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service.
The objects comprise one lot each of copper artifacts, clay and ceramic artifacts, and lithics, excavated from the Goodall Mounds site in La Porte County, Indiana, in 1937. Indiana University received the collection in 1943.
