Boston Childrens Museum to Repatriate Sacred Objects to Hui Iwi Kuamo'o

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (TNSFR) -- The Boston Children's Museum, Massachusetts, intends to repatriate two sacred objects to Hui Iwi Kuamo'o.
The objects are two Pohaku Poho, or stone lamps, that the museum purchased in 1968 from Joseph A. O'Leary of Opa-Locka, Florida. Both objects were labeled with legacy tags identifying Kauai as their location of origin.
The museum determined the stone lamps are specific ceremonial objects needed by traditional Native Ame . . .
