Garvies Point Museum & Preserve to Repatriate Funerary Objects to 3 Tribes

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (TNSFR) -- The Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Museums--Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, Glen Cove, New York, intends to repatriate associated funerary objects to three Native American tribes.

The museum identified 178 objects associated with a burial at the Archery Range site in The Bronx, New York. The collection includes 84 pottery pieces, two moon snail shells, one projectile point, quartz, slate and quartzite stone flakes, animal bones . . .
