WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (TNSFR) -- California State University, Fullerton, intends to repatriate 42 cultural items and lots to the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Mission Indians of the Santa Ynez Reservation, California.
According to the National Park Service notice, the collection includes 11 unassociated funerary objects and 31 lots of objects of cultural patrimony. The funerary objects include faunal bone, lithics, shell beads, a pestle, shell fragments, asphaltum and historic material. . . .
