WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued an exemption in response to a request dated December 31, 2025, from SMR, LLC, on behalf of Palisades SMR, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Holtec International for approval to allow construction of permanent support of excavation walls prior to the issuance of a limited work authorization for Pioneer Units 1 and 2. The support of excavation walls will remain in place after construction is complete.
