N.Y. Mayor Mamdani Begins Work on Bronx's First Busway

NEW YORK, Aug. 13 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani announced at Walter Gladwin Park on Tremont Avenue that construction has begun on the Bronx's first dedicated busway, designed to improve service for about 39,000 daily Bx36 riders.

Starting September 19, buses and select vehicles will receive priority along sections of Tremont Avenue from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The mayor said the project could increase bus speeds by up to 60 percent, save riders as much as six minutes per . . .
