WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed approving the updated air pollution control plan of Illinois covering volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides for the Chicago and Metro-East St. Louis ozone nonattainment areas, concluding the revisions satisfy Moderate ozone reasonably available control technology requirements and Serious nitrogen oxides control requirements under the 2015 ozone standard.
