Staten Island Museum to Repatriate Native American Remains to Miccosukee, Seminole Tribes

WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 (TNSFR) -- The Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences, New York, has completed an inventory under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), determining that human remains and associated funerary objects are culturally affiliated with the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians, Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, according to a notice published by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service.
