WASHINGTON, July 31 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has granted Zoox Inc., Foster City, California, a temporary exemption from portions of eight Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, allowing the company to manufacture and commercially deploy up to 2,500 autonomous robotaxis each year for two years despite the vehicles not meeting selected federal vehicle equipment requirements.
