WASHINGTON, July 24 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Defense issued a rule amending its Title VI regulations to eliminate disparate-impact liability in federally assisted programs, stating the revisions align its regulations with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, current department policy and Executive Order 14281.
The rule takes effect on July 24, 2026, and rescinds regulatory provisions that extended beyond intentional discrimination.
