WASHINGTON, July 23 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved revisions to Maine's Clean Air Act Title V operating permit program, concluding that the state's updates clarify existing requirements, reflect long-standing administrative practices and support future electronic permitting without imposing additional federal obligations.

The final rule takes effect on August 24, 2026.
