WASHINGTON, July 23 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service has proposed lowering the assessment rate paid by handlers of grapes grown in a designated area of southeastern California, reducing the fee from $0.030 to $0.025 per 18-pound lug beginning with the 2026 fiscal period. The proposal is intended to reduce committee reserve funds while continuing to finance the federal marketing order program.
