WASHINGTON, June 30 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency granted U.S. Ecology Nevada Inc. a site-specific variance allowing stabilized elemental mercury generated from hazardous waste treatment to be permanently disposed in a permitted Nevada hazardous waste monofill instead of being returned to commercial markets, concluding the alternative approach better protects human health and the environment.
