WASHINGTON, June 30 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration is eliminating an outdated provision from federal mine safety regulations by removing flame safety lamps from the list of permissible electric face equipment for underground coal mines, concluding the technology has long been replaced by modern lighting and gas detection systems.
