WASHINGTON, June 27 -- British Ambassador James Kariuki, charge d'affaires at the United Nations, demanded that the Rapid Support Forces halt their assault on El Obeid during a Security Council meeting in New York. Kariuki expressed deep concern that the Sudanese city is on the precipice of an atrocity, noting that civilians face drone strikes, critical infrastructure attacks and severe restrictions on movement.
