WASHINGTON, June 25 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration will extend operating limits at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, through Oct. 30, 2027, as it works to address air traffic controller shortages and maintain safe traffic levels.
The agency said staffing levels remain below targets for facilities handling Newark operations, and additional time is needed to train controllers before restrictions can be lifted.
