Temple researchers use GIS technology to uncover Philadelphia's Underground Railroad history

Using geographic information systems, College of Liberal Arts professors Jeremy Mennis and Nilgun Anadolu-Okur mapped the historic towns and counties from which individuals escaped slavery to Philadelphia on the Underground Railroad between 1853 and 1861.
