WASHINGTON, June 24 -- Addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York, British Ambassador James Kariuki, charge d'affaires at the U.N., called on global partners to refocus resources with urgency to prevent a reversal of progress in the global fight against HIV and AIDS. Kariuki highlighted historical achievements in reducing transmissions and deaths over past decades, especially among children, but warned that gains could be lost without targeted efforts.
