WASHINGTON, June 12 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved a State Implementation Plan submitted by New York to satisfy Clean Air Act requirements for maintaining compliance with the 2006 24-hour fine particulate matter standard in the Metropolitan Area. The final rule covers the second 10-year maintenance period for PM2.5 and applies to the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island maintenance area.
