WASHINGTON, May 28 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani promoted his administration's major housing initiative, Block by Block, during a news conference at Halletts North in Astoria, Queens. Speaking at the waterfront venue, Mayor Mamdani outlined a $22 billion plan to construct 200,000 affordable homes and preserve another 200,000 over the next five years to address a severe citywide housing shortage.
