DOT FAA Proposes Directive Requiring Pratt & Whitney Engine Sensor Replacements After In-Flight Shutdown Reports

WASHINGTON, May 27 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration has proposed an airworthiness directive that would require replacement of pressure burner sensors in multiple Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines after reports linked deteriorating sensors to tailpipe fires, loss of thrust control and in-flight engine shutdowns. The proposal affects all Pratt & Whitney Division PW4052, PW4056, PW4060, PW4060A, PW4060C, PW4062, PW4062A, PW4152, PW4156, PW4156A . . .
