USDA Announces $823 Million in Food Support for Emergency Nutrition Programs in Fiscal Year 2026

WASHINGTON, May 21 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced plans to provide more than $823 million worth of surplus and purchased foods during Fiscal Year 2026 through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), a federal initiative designed to support food banks, pantries, soup kitchens, and other organizations serving low-income households across the country.
