CalState-Channel Islands Identifies Chumash Affiliation in NAGPRA Inventory

WASHINGTON, May 20 (TNSFR) -- California State University Channel Islands campus has completed an inventory of Native American human remains and associated funerary objects connected to the Chumash people, according to a notice published by the National Park Service under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

The notice states that CSUCI determined there is a cultural affiliation between the remains and funerary objects and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Missio . . .
