USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Cuts Assessment Rate for Riverside County Date Industry

WASHINGTON, May 14 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service issued a rule reducing the assessment rate for domestic dates produced or packed in Riverside County, California, lowering the fee from $0.15 to $0.05 per hundredweight beginning with the 2024-2025 crop year. The AMS issued the rule in the May 13 Federal Register and stated the lower rate will remain in place unless modified or suspended in later action.
