WASHINGTON, May 11 (TNSFR) -- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) proposes amending Department of Justice regulations to make clear that when individuals complete ATF forms for firearms or explosives, they should select their biological sex under the question on "sex."

Comments must be submitted in writing, and must be submitted on or before (or, if mailed, must be postmarked on or before) August 4, 2026, according to a Federal Register notice.
