WASHINGTON, May 4 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-New York, to announce $2 million in federal funding to expand the Neighborhood Internet program, providing free broadband to thousands of households. Speaking in the Bronx, Mamdani stated the investment will bring high-speed connectivity to 2,000 apartments across 50 buildings in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan.
