WASHINGTON, May 9 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced an investment of $12 million from opioid settlement funds to expand community-based, peer-led substance-use recovery services. Speaking at the 59th anniversary of Phoenix House in Brooklyn, Mamdani explained that the funding will support seven nonprofits across the five boroughs to grow peer-specialist programs and outreach efforts.
