WASHINGTON, April 17 -- A decreased desire to consume protein serves as the earliest known warning sign of cancer cachexia, according to a research study from Harvard Medical School. By tracking behavioral changes in fruit flies, researchers identified a molecular disruption that occurs before the onset of overall appetite loss and muscle wasting.
