ITA Investigates South Korean Steel Shipped Through Thailand to Evade Duties

WASHINGTON, April 2 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration announced the initiation of an inquiry to determine if steel producers are bypassing trade duties. The investigation focuses on certain corrosion-resistant (CORE) steel products that are completed in Thailand using components manufactured in South Korea.

The inquiry follows a Feb. 26, 2026, request from Nucor Corp., Charlotte, North Carolina, and Steel Dynamics Inc., Fort Wayne, Indiana . . .
