WASHINGTON, March 25 -- Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-New York, said in a statement that a jury decision finding Meta and YouTube liable for harmful and addictive impacts on minors marks a victory for families and reinforces the need for stronger protections online.
Hochul pointed to the state's SAFE for Kids Act and other measures limiting social media algorithms, restricting phone use in schools, and regulating AI tools as part of a broader effort to safeguard young people.
