WASHINGTON, March 25 (TNSjou) -- South Korea achieves clinical outcomes comparable to the U.S. at lower per-capita spending, yet systemic income-based health inequalities remain a challenge in both nations. A study co-authored by Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) health economist Karen Eggleston finds that while universal health care in South Korea helps narrow some gaps, income remains a powerful determinant of medical access and utilization.
